Saw this post while researching about Viola Liuzzo’s death. Here is an interview with Leroy Moton regarding the death of Viola that he witnessed in 1965. You can easily do a search on him on the internet and see that he was not even harmed in the shooting and has been alive and speaking about the Civil Rights Movement for years.

    Ms Burkowski
I am Viola Liuzzo’s oldest daughter & I want to tell you this is a picture of my mom & my dad George Argyris taken in 1949. I was adopted by Anthony Liuzzo in 1955. Pls do a better job of researching before you put info on the internet. This picture was put in the media by mistake as reporters were rummaging through our house taking our pictures in 1965 right after my family was informed of my mom’s murder. I’m sure there are pictures somewhere of Anthony Liuzzo that you can obtain. Also Leroy Moton is still alive & living in New England! Please get your facts straight and correct this asap!

I am sorry if this photo is mistaken. I will remove it and replace with one of your mother herself. Meanwhile, I need to have more information from you regarding Leroy Moton. Historical accounts indicate he was the man murdered along with your mother in the car. I can’t refute those without further information. I appreciate your letting me know about the photo. I met some of your mother’s other children with Mr. Liuzzo in 1983, during the commemmoration of the 1963 March on Washington. I also grew up in the same parish where your mother and Mr. Liuzzo lived, IHM parish, but did not know she lived there until I met her other children. I am sorry if this photo caused you pain, but please send me the info you have regarding Leroy Moton. Thanks. You can email it to diane_bukowski@hotmail.com
