COURT OVERTURNS MICHIGAN BAN ON AFFIRMATIVE ACTION

BAMN Lansing AA protest

BAMN rally on the steps of the Michigan State Capitol against Proposal 2, which banned affirmative action in Michigan institutions in 2006. It was later overturned by the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in a major victory, but Michigan Atty. General Bill Schuette appealed for an “en banc” hearing of the whole court. That hearing resulted Nov. 15 in a confirmation of the court’s earlier decision.
