Today I am working on my witsebe. I am trying to focus on what my next endeavor will be. I am also watching Headline News or rather listening to it. I have been following what is going on around the country and it does not sound good. For one thing there are a lot of children being killed lately. It seems like the rise in deaths at the hands of adults have increased since the economic situation worsens.I think that losing a job is the most devastating thing to happen to someone; even if they have worked for a short time. Although it seems that more white Americans are suffering the deaths of their children because of the news, I am sure that black families are going through their problems. But it seems like it is more theft than murder of children and family that are prevalent in the black community. Black men are more likely to be laid off in these times and Black women are more likely to be left with the responsibility of supporting the family. But is this totally true? I will not say 100%.I have never lived through a time where 7% of the population is out of work in Michigan. I have been self employed for over 8 years and I have been struggling now than ever to support myself and my grandmother.Sometimes I hear on the news that things are moving forward, but President Obama has only been in office for 3 months, I don’t like to be too optimistic too soon. It took me a long time to warm to him because I was a Hillary Clinton supporter, but gradually I am warming up to him. Still I am going to wait and see how he handles the plight of the working and self employed.
