    BTW, you may be the only other person who capitalizes Black and White when referring to said people. A grammar lesson well learned.

    • I am not sure what article you are commenting on. Voice of Detroit’s editorial policy is to capitalize “Black” but not “white” because “Black” represents an actual people and culture, whereas “white” mainly refers, inaccurately, to skin color alone. Scientifically, there is actually no such thing as “race.” The most basic category living beings can be classified into is a “species,” whose members can come together and produce children who are also fertile. Lately, however, one wonders about the “white” category. Recent scientific articles have noted that many whites, but no one with African heritage, somehow got mixed in with the Neanderthal gene pool, and carry a small percentage of Neantherdal genes. Perhaps that may explain something here.
